Golf Ball Comparison Chart: Every Major Ball by Brand and Spec

Picking a golf ball shouldn’t require a research degree. This table covers every major ball from the eight biggest brands — compression, cover, number of pieces, what kind of golfer it’s built for, and roughly what a dozen costs. Click any row to shop it on Amazon.

Two things to know before you scan: compression is how firm the ball is — lower is softer and suits slower swing speeds, higher is firmer and suits faster swings. Cover material is either urethane (more short-game spin and feel, used by better players) or ionomer (more durable, more consistent, lower cost). Most golfers do fine with ionomer.

Compression figures are approximate — manufacturers don’t always publish exact numbers. Prices are approximate and vary by retailer. All models are current 2026 lineup.
