Privacy Policy

We’re Legally Required to Have This Page

Look, we know you’re not reading this. Nobody reads privacy policies. But we have to have one, and you should probably skim it — especially the part about cookies and affiliate links.

TL;DR: We use cookies to track affiliate sales. We don’t sell your data. We’re not evil, just trying to run a website about golf balls.

Who We Are

Golf Takes Balls (golftakesballs.com) is an affiliate content site based in the United States. We publish golf ball reviews, comparisons, and buying guides. We earn commissions when you buy products through our affiliate links.

What Information We Collect

If you contact us: Your name and email address, so we can write back. We won’t sell it, share it, or do anything weird with it.

If you sign up for our newsletter: Your email address. You can unsubscribe anytime. No spam, ever.

Automatically via cookies and analytics: Pages visited, browser type, approximate location (country/region level), referring website, and time spent on pages. This is standard web analytics data used to understand what content is useful. It is not tied to your identity.

Cookies

We use cookies for:

  • Affiliate tracking: When you click our links, cookies tell the retailer we referred you so we get credit for the sale. These cookies are set by third-party retailers (Amazon, etc.), not by us directly.
  • Analytics: We use Google Analytics to understand site traffic. These cookies collect anonymous, aggregated data.
  • WordPress functionality: Standard cookies for site operation (session management, security).

You can disable cookies in your browser settings. Note that disabling cookies won’t affect your ability to read our content, but we won’t earn commissions on purchases you make after clicking our links.

Affiliate Links and Third-Party Retailers

When you click affiliate links on Golf Takes Balls and make a purchase, cookies may be placed on your device by the retailer. Each retailer has their own privacy policy governing how they handle your data. We recommend reviewing the privacy policies of any retailer before making a purchase.

We currently work with:

  • Amazon Associates (amazon.com/privacy)
  • Rock Bottom Golf
  • GlobalGolf
  • Vice Golf
  • Other golf retailers as we expand

Google Analytics

We use Google Analytics to analyze site traffic. Google Analytics uses cookies to collect anonymous data about how visitors use our site. This data is processed by Google in accordance with their privacy policy. You can opt out of Google Analytics tracking by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
